When scheduling a flight for University of Illinois related travel, employees are encouraged to use one of the University of Illinois contracted travel agencies. The Sociology office prefers to use Franklin Travel, but you may use any of the 3 agencies listed. Once the travel agency has confirmed the flight itinerary with the traveler, they should contact Mina Seaton at 217-333-0730 for credit card payment. If Mina is not available, they may contact Shari Day at 217-244-1809 for payment.
Airfare Purchases with T-Card No Longer Restricted to Contracted Travel Agencies.
The policy stating that purchases of airfare with a Travel Card (T-Card) must be made from one of the contracted travel agencies has changed. Effective immediately, the University is no longer enforcing this requirement. Purchase of airfare may be made using a T-Card from any vendor that offers the needed itinerary at the most economical price. In order to charge your airfare to one of the department T-Cards, after you have found the itinerary that best suits your needs and you have the payment screen displayed on your computer, please contact Mina Seaton at 217-333-0730 for credit card payment. If Mina is not available, please contact Shari Day at 217-244-1809 for payment.
Employees also have the option of being reimbursed for airfare purchased using personal funds, but only after the travel has occurred. Although we would prefer that Invited Guests use one of the contracted travel agencies to schedule their flight itinerary, they too may schedule their own flight and be reimbursed. Whether employee or guest of the university, in addition to turning in your ticket receipt for reimbursement, if you have boarding passes or boarding pass stubs, please turn them in, also.
