Dr. Tim Liao, Professor of Sociology at Illinois, has been named the next editor of Socius: Sociological Research for a Dynamic World, an online open access journal from the American Sociological Association (ASA).

His tenure as editor begins this month, August 2024, and will continue for the next three years. Among his stated goals for the journal, Dr. Liao intends to focus on increasing the journal's inclusivity of both authors and reviewers from a variety of backgrounds, identities, and regions. He will also further the publication's outreach through increased social media presence and encouraging authors to develop press releases about accepted work.
