Reba Daniels is the Academic Advisor for the Department of Sociology at the University of Illinois Urbana – Champaign. Before this role, she served as the Coordinator of First Year Experience at Lamar University where she led the program to a near 60% growth in two years by building collaborative relationships with faculty and campus stakeholders. Her additional professional experiences include coordinating academic coaching, athletic tutoring, peer mentoring, living learning communities and civic engagement. She has presented at regional and national conferences, conducted research, and served multiple terms with AmeriCorps. As a first-generation college graduate, she is a champion for student success and identifying ways to support students so they can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. She specifically enjoys the broad nature of her work to collaborate with faculty, staff and students.
